As the Bangladesh cricket team prepares to take on India in a Test series, former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer has reserved the highest respect for Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli.

Jaffer, who is now the head coach of the Bangladesh Under-19 team, said Kohli has taken India out of difficult situations on many occasions.

“The way he (Kohli) bats, the way he fields, the way he leads the team… he has taken India out of difficult situations on so many occasions. He is a match-winner and a very special player,” Jaffer was quoted as saying by Bangladesh news outlet bdcrictime.

The 42-year-old Jaffer, who played 31 Tests and two ODIs for India, also had high praise for Bangladesh cricket.

“Bangladesh cricket has improved a lot in the last few years. They have some very good players and it will be a tough series for India,” he said.
