Allan Donald, the former South African pacer, has apologised to Rahul Dravid for his previous behaviour during the India-South Africa Test series in 2001. Donald had sledging Dravid during the series, which led to ugly on-field confrontations between the two players.

In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Donald said, “I want to take this opportunity to apologise to Rahul Dravid for my behaviour during that Test series. It was unbecoming of a player of my stature and I regret it deeply.”

Donald’s apology comes after Dravid’s recent retirement from international cricket. The two players share a great mutual respect for each other and have been friends off the field for many years.

This is a great gesture by Donald and it shows the class of the man. Dravid is one of the greatest batsmen of all time and he deserves nothing but respect from the cricketing community.
