The death of a Russian national in Odisha has sparked fresh concerns over the safety of foreigners in the state. The Russian, who has been identified as Sergey Vasilyev, was found dead in his hotel room in Puri on Tuesday morning.

This is the third death of a foreigner in Odisha in the last two months. In September, a German national was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his hotel room in Bhubaneswar. And last month, a British man was found dead in a village in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.

The police are investigating all three deaths, but no foul play is suspected in any of them. However, the string of deaths has raised concerns about the safety of foreigners in Odisha.

The state government has assured that it is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of foreigners. “We are in touch with the embassies of all the countries whose nationals have died in Odisha,” a senior official said.

The police are also investigating whether there is any link between the three deaths. However, they say that it is too early to speculate about any possible connection.
